LOTS OF QUACKS, NOT A REAL DUCK IN SIGHT
Today we went to Lake Pleasant for a D.U.K.W. tour. You pronounce it like Duck. What is a D.U.K.W. you ask? Why it's a 7 ton vehicle that was used in World War II to transport troups on land or water. D is for the year it was made, 1940. U is for Utility vehicle. K is for rear wheel drive. W is for front wheel drive. So we start by driving through the beautiful Arizona desert at a whopping rate of 30 mph! There were gorgeous views of buttes dotted with giant Saguro cacti! We then proceed to drive right into the lake which Crue and Addi thought was awesome! Yes, they had to wear life preservers just in case we sank, we did drive a 7 ton vehicle into a lake, there is a possibility of that happening! The captain of the DUKW even let Crue drive. Crue gave it 2 thumbs up! Except for the whole driving into the water thing, Addi was unimpressed. She hated the life vest and tried to jump over the side a few times. It was a good thing I had a bag of pretzels to keep her occupied! Even though it was overcast and a little rainy, overall it was fun, not rollercoaster fun, more like ferris wheel fun!

That looks like a blast! I love everything there is to do around here!
That is awesome. Driving out into a lake is tops!
I know I already left one comment but I have to tell you. When I was looking at your blog, Tom Petty's song American Girl was playing and all I could think of was our High School volleyball days, sitting in the back of Bradley's van singing that song over and over and over. "make it last all night!"
Come to think of it, Tom Petty and Bradley's van bring back a LOT of memories! Hanging on top riding around the softball diamond next to their house, Taking it out on the desert, singing our heads off... AWESOME! :)
